SP-Essentials

I am so excited to announce the launch of SP-Essentials! I get emails daily about my editing workflow so it’s really exciting to make it available for other photographers to watch and learn from these new videos! I hope you enjoy them!

Here is a little info about SP Essenitals:
SP Essentials was created by Angie Monson of Simplicity Photography to help provide all photographers with expert tools to apply to their own work. You can view these videos from your own personal computer or electronic device at any time, making it flexible for you to learn at your own pace.

Each video features Angie editing images in her step-by-step process from start to finish. You will learn new ideas or new techniques to apply to your own photographs. If you have any suggestions on photos or techniques you’d like to see, send us an email. Check back often; we will be uploading new videos every month and the next one might be based on your suggestion.

Remember to enter “grandopening15″ at checkout for 15% until March 23rd at Midnight.

Workshop/Retreat Announcement

I was thinking a lot this year about teaching a workshop that is just geared towards family photography since it is something that is NOT easy to do! I will be holding a really amazing RETREAT in Oakley UT in a fabulous cabin/house in the mountains!
I am very excited about this because it’s a chance for you to work on your business but also a chance to come and have a little vacation! We have some really fun plans in the works for the Retreat.

INVESTMENT:
$1950 (1,000 deposit is required to hold your spot). Paypal & CC’s are accepted.
The cost will include your lodging, food & any activities we have planned!
*You are responsible for getting to the studio on time to leave for the retreat.

DETAILS:
The 3 day/3 night workshop/retreat will cover the following:
-Posing techniques for families
-Creating natural moments during family sessions
-Start to finish flow of a family session
-Watch Angie shoot an entire family session in person
-Attendees will also have a chance to photograph a family session as well
-Finding beautiful light for group shots
-Editing (full Lightroom & Photoshop from start to finish)
-Powerpoint presentation on business

THE FUN STUFF:
I wanted to includes some down time and free time for everyone to just be together
and enjoy their time away so I will be setting up fun activities (which haven’t all be ironed out yet),
but get excited! I am thinking Chair massages, Yoga class held outside in nature, and a few other surprises.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must live at least 2 hours away from SLC, UT to participate.
Must know how to shoot in Manual, this is not a beginner workshop

***The workshop will start at Angie’s Studio downtown Salt Lake City at 3pm on Sept 12th. We will gather there and then be
transported to Oakley, UT (about an hour drive) where we will stay the remainder of the retreat. Checkout won’t be until 2 or 3pm on
Sept 15th.

HOW DO I BOOK??
Please email keala@simplicityphotography.com (emails only please, it’s easier to keep track of).

Dreaming of the sun…

I am sitting here dreaming of warmer weather and getting excited for my trip to Belize with the hubs in a few weeks. It hasn’t stopped snowing here in Utah for weeks. Inversion & snow everyday makes a creative person GO CRAZY!! Anyways, I took these photos last fall & you might recognize this beautiful family because I am the lucky one who has been able to photograph them for the last 4 or 5 years. YA, I know… they look like models:)
