Simplicity Photography bio picture
  • I'm Angie Monson, a portrait photographer located in Salt Lake City, UT. Just a gal trying to make a living while pursuing her dream. I am a mother of three sweet babies that keep me on my toes. I started Simplicity Photography in 2005 and this is my journey, it's all here on this good ol' blog. Hope you enjoy what you see! Pull up a chair and stay a while...

Well hi there.

My brain hurts, as in aches. I don’t even know if it’s working anymore. All I can think is, shoot… edit…. shoot… edit. I might be turning into a robot photographer… BUT… on the upside I got to photograph this AMAZING family. Talk about personality! It is so nice and refreshing to get families that are open to fun, quirky, and just REAL sessions. I loved every second of it. These kids are lucky to have such amazing, fun parents.

On a different note, yes I have been changing up my editing… a little dreamy vintage involved lately, I think it’s a nice change. Right brained people get bored easily, what can I say?

Eric Turnbow - I would like to give Angie a BIG thank you. I am the Groom in the above photos. Angie has been nothing short of brilliant for my new wife and myself. She has done our Engagement photos, the Bridals and of course the Wedding photos. She has captured every emotion we had through her images. She truly has a gift and I appreciate and admire her work. The emotion and the beauty from each image jumps out and it truly feels like I am back on that Saturday night in October promising to spend the rest of my life with my one true love. You have captured that wonderful, beautiful moment in time and it will last forever in both our hearts and minds.
Thank you again Angie and when we have kids I will be calling you to capture that beautiful moment in time.

Sincerely, Eric Turnbow

I have about 12 sessions to blog… might not happen! I barely made it through last week! I feel like an old lady these days, my body hurts & I am so tired. I keep telling myself, just 6 more weeks of insanity and then I will have a nice break! Although, I know the truth is that my life is always insanity and I am pretty sure I like it that way.

Onto these cuties. I love these kids & their amazing mom. I wanted to post a sneak peek of some of my favorites for you Lindsay! You know I love you photographing you guys:)

MCP actions… Lightroom & ACR presets.

I get questions ALL the time on how I edit, how to cut down workflow, and the best actions & presets I can send people to…

I just got the MCP Lightroom Presets for Lightroom & I am dying at how amazing they are. I have cut my editing time in half using them. I have my own recipe for editing which usually takes me 3-5 min for each image and with these presets it really only takes me 2-3 minutes per image.

I use the presets on my RAW images (if you aren’t shooting RAW, do it) and then I export them as jpegs and open them in photoshop and do skin softening and touch up any imperfections. It’s so easy & there are so many to choose from! They are AMAZING. I promise:)

You can BUY THEM HERE. They are on sale until Halloween people, so get em quick.

Here are a few images I have edited in the last week using them..

In this image I used “lucky”, then opened it in photoshop, ran noiseware professional and sharpened. Viola!

In these I used “sliver bowl” and then I did skin softening and magical clarity for MCP actions Bag of Tricks.
