Oh how I love photographing kids this age! She is 11 and was so easy to work with! I kept telling her that I really loved that she didn’t cry or run away from me like all the toddlers I photograph. She was so sweet and quiet, I love the shy ones!.jpg)

Emily - I really love your work, it is such an inspiration. I would really love it if you ever had the time to stop by my facebook page and leave a critique, but that is not what I am here to ask you.
I was wondering if and how you go about copyrighting your photos. One of my clients recently asked me if she could submit a photo I took of her husband and kids into a contest to win a video camera. I told her no, that I hold the copyright and I know that I do. However if she wanted she could easily enter without my knowing. If this were to ever happen would I need a legal copyright document to show that I was the one that took the picture? Should I be watermarking my work? Do you give your clients pictures with watermarks on them?
I’m sorry for all the questions but I was not finding a lot of advice online so I thought I would ask a photographer that I knew was running her own business. Thank you so much for any reply that you can find the time to give me!
