what have they been up to?

Well, Chloe and Tate are usually up to no good, seriously.I am trying to potty train, trying being the key word. Any tips? 2 at 1 time is just not easy and Chloe is not interested at all. Tate will go pee on the potty when I ask him, but doesn’t understand the #2 business....

Your daughter has beautiful eyes! I’m on the same boat trying to potty train our 2 year old. The other day I was at my desk (my daughter always stands on the back of my chair hugging my back while I’m on the computer). All of sudden I felt something wet and warm come down my back… turned around and there she was with no diaper and my back was soaked! Lol!

Love.
It was fun hangin’ with these two rugrats the other night. I was bustin up…between Tate wiggin out and Chloe busting that stool…you’ve got your hands full for sure. I bow to you, mother of TWO toddlers. Ollie wears me out, but you seem to just keep going and going and going. You on drugs? That must be it. Or maybe you’re just that amazing. Hmmmmm, no one knows.
This post was way too long. Yowza

I wish I had some tips for you. I am going th rough the same type of thing with my little one. :) My first daughter took about a week, and my second daughter could really care less if she is in diapers or undies. :) Good luck to you. :) LOVE LOVE LOVE your photos. I am a huge fan!

oh shes beautiful, what gorgeous eyes, and awesome conversions!

Caylee SecretanJanuary 31, 2009 - 6:20 pm

They are way too cute! Oh Tate, it’s okay, posin for Valentines is girly stuff, right?! Good luck with the potty whatnot – my advice, hmmmm? We went to Vegas last year for our anniversary and while we were gone my mother in law potty trained Sam! Do you want her number?

BetsyJanuary 31, 2009 - 9:53 pm

I potty trained my twins recently… here is my advice (but first— AWESOME pics– as usual).

Get the book “Potty Training in One Day”… and stick to it. Do one child at a time… It will absolutely exhaust you– and you’ll think it isn’t working, but the next day they’ll be potty trained. Honest to God. I did my daughter, Ella, when she was two years and two months…in one day. She has had two accidents in 8 months. Her twin brother I potty trained at 2 years and six months– in two days– and he has had a handful of accidents (but usually when I forgot to ask him or we couldn’t get him to the potty in time). It works really well. GOOD LUCK! You can do it! :)

I just went through this a couple weeks ago. I just put two long sleeve shirts on my son and left him naked from the waste down for three days. The first day he kept asking for a diaper but I didn’t relent. He needed to pee about every half hour so we stayed home. The second day was much better but we had one accident that I had him help me clean up. I put underwear on him the fourth day but no pants. After a couple days of that and only a few accidents we went to fully clothed. I used a potty chart with candy for the next week. And now, two weeks later, he doesn’t even tell me that he needs to go- he just runs to the potty. Now I just need to figure out how to potty-train him for night time. So when you figure that one out, let me know. Good luck!

Oh how cute are they!! My sweet daughter has just recently gotten it pretty good. I just made her the cutest sticker chart that hangs above her potty and when she goes she gets to put a cool sticker on it….it’s working for me!!
Woo hoo!!! Good Luck!

I recommend “Naked Camp!” That’s what I call it at least! Take a long weekend (Friday thru Monday for instance) and baby gate your kitchen. (Assuming you have tile in there.) Allow your little ones to run around with out pants/undies/diaper on for the entire time. They need to make the connection of the urge to go and what happens when they do! He! He! I’m tellin’ ya, worked for my two! In the summer, if you have a private, fenced in yard, it can work there too, but it looks a little cold at your place. Have the little potty set up in your baby gated area along with some wrapped goodies from the dollar store for motivation. Each time they are successful with the potty, they get to pick from the potty prize basket! My kids loved it! You’ll be sweating by the end of the weekend, but it’ll be worth it! Think of the money you’ll save in diapers! GOOD LUCK! :)

RebekahFebruary 2, 2009 - 2:48 am

Chloe has stunning eyes!!

MaryFebruary 2, 2009 - 7:34 am

Good luck with the potty training we are working on that one also! Beautiful photos!

angela hibbertFebruary 2, 2009 - 11:13 pm

Beautiful pics Angie! Your little angels are precious! I agree with the no pants/underwear thing. although I did it with underwear only. quite a few accidents but they start to learn that they don’t like the feeling of being wet and dripping. Make them try every 15 minutes and actually sit them on the potty. I also agree it may be easier to do one at a time. My son was potty trained decently in one week. He was 2yrs and 8 mos. though. Sometimes boys will take longer, they do need to be ready

Spahulu PhotographyFebruary 2, 2009 - 11:17 pm

Ran into your site as I was visiting simply chic…potty traniing is just one of those things I think I’ve learned to become tolerant with…boys take longer, and i hear girls pick it up real quick and have yet to see that occur with my 1yr old daughter:) I have a question for ya? Do you take part in picking what your clients wear? Their vibrant colors just pull me in each time….and then the locations you pick just add even more intriguing points to the eye. Thanks for sharing!

LesleyFebruary 3, 2009 - 9:23 pm

I didn’t know you had twins. Mine are two years four months and I am DREADING potty training. I am reading and re-reading your comments to get some good tips and advice. I can’t wait to hear how it goes.

And of course, beautiful photos!!!!

JessFebruary 3, 2009 - 10:33 pm

I can’t believe Chloe has hair and it’s long. I love Tate’s look too.

mindyFebruary 3, 2009 - 10:40 pm

Love the naked tips! ha..ha… Have you tried the fruit loops in the toilet for your boy? That’s what I have been doing. He is almost there. Also question? Did you know you were having twins before they told you? Like could you just tell there were 2? I am pregnant with our last. And I am thinking it might be…… any info would help! :)

Ashley MaeFebruary 4, 2009 - 4:45 am

Beautiful/ Perfect V-Day images, awesome as usual :)

Angie MonsonFebruary 4, 2009 - 4:09 pm

oh my you guys are the best. I think I will try the naked thing, in fact Chloe is naked right now might as well start!

Ashley JulianFebruary 6, 2009 - 4:50 pm

Oh. My. Gosh….potty training is one of the most difficult mommy trials I’ve gone through with my kids. 2 down and 2 more to go.
No advice for you other than hang in there. They have start using the toilet eventually.

are ya cold?

Yep.25 degrees. My question is, why can’t it always be 70 degrees, everywhere?Michelle, if you are reading, doesn’t she look exactly like your little Aspen? It’s freaking me out!not sure how we even got one of him smiling, he was SO cold!

your images are always so sharp, you have said before you use your 70-200mm f/2.8 L, do you use it in your studio as well, and do you mind telling on what aperture do you have it set on to achieve such detail?? you are so inspiring, but looking at your work makes me want to bang my head against the wall… i have so much to learn, a bit overwhelming! aaghhh!

If only I weren’t in Las Vegas. =(

I pretty much like Maui… a lot

So Maui was such an adventure. I went with my hubby, sister, and brother in law. Good times. We got Maui Go Cards (which I recommend) so we did a lot of stuff. We went on a Kayaking tour (on very choppy water I might add) and it was probably the most exciting of the activities....
